Newly appointed EVP of Mountain States, Scott Tuxbury to lead the Missoula office
July 10, 2024 — XPT Specialty, a leading wholesale broker for commercial and personal insurance, today announced the opening of its Missoula, Montana office, focusing on hospitality, agribusiness, contractors, habitational and general surplus lines programs. The company also announced the appointment of Scott Tuxbury as Executive Vice President (EVP) of Mountain States. He will oversee XPT’s efforts out of the new Montana office.
Tuxbury comes to XPT with nearly 50 years of experience in the insurance industry. He brings an extensive Excess & Surplus Lines background, having served as owner and manager of a managing general agent in Montana for 30+ years. Most recently, he held the role of Vice President and Branch Manager at Big Sky Underwriters in Missoula, MT.

Alongside Tuxbury, XPT Specialty recently appointed Kevin Messner, Kenzie Hanson, and Toph Butto as commercial underwriters/brokers and Polly Smith as associate broker. All of these parties will be based in the new XPT office in Montana.
